American Flag Balloon - 2006

Once the balloon has been partially inflated with air, the propane burners are fired up to add heat. This gives the lift to the air inside the balloon to set it upright.

The basket is first laying on its side. As the heat is applied, the basket is slowly set upright.

Finally, the balloon is fully inflated and ready for liftoff. This inflation was done for the night glow. After dark, the propane is burned so that the flame is a bright yellow. This causes the balloon to glow in the dark.
